Unlike the Migration Review Tribunal and the Social Security Appeals Tribunal, the Veterans' Review Board is not excluded from the increased Efficiency Dividend.

Shadow Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson, said the Minister for Veterans' Affairs must immediately clarify the Veterans' Review Board's future position.

"The outcome of reduced funding may lead to increased waiting times for appeals to be heard and matters settled", Senator Ronaldson said.

"... Such a cut would come on top of dramatic reductions in BEST funding, which saw $8 million removed from all advocacy funding programmes in this year's Budget."

"The veteran community quite rightly demands urgent clarification, not prevarication, from the Minister on this matter."
