After spending 15 years in the Army, Luke resigned in 2002 as a Commissioned Officer holding the rank of Major.

Luke is a former Australian and State representative in the sport of rowing, winning two national and six State championships.

As a local resident, Luke is passionate about making Cowan the best it can possibly be.  He, his wife Kelly and their two young children live in the Cowan electorate, in the suburb of Warwick.

Luke has a strong interest in community building through the promotion of crime prevention and volunteering.  He has introduced his own Cowan Community Watch program and Volunteer Recognition initiative to promote community safety and recognise those who gave their time to make Cowan a better place to live.

Luke regularly visits local schools to talk to kids about democracy and values.
