Written by Christian Porter

Member for Bateman Christian Porter is encouraging households from the Bateman suburbs of Kardinya and Winthrop to sign up for the H2ome Smart program.

The program will offer about 13,000 Perth households the opportunity to receive free water efficiency coaching and water saving devices in the hope of saving 600 million litres of water over the next 12 months.

Households involved will be offered incentives to keep on track and those who save the most water will be rewarded with waterwise prizes up to the value of $500.

One lucky household will also win the grand prize of a garden makeover by ABC TV's Josh Byrne.

The program is similar to ones that are already under way in a number of regional areas of Western Australia.

The H2ome Smart program will target certain suburbs and Households in the targeted suburbs will receive a letter inviting them to participate in the program. Households wanting to take part can register by calling the H2ome Smart hotline on 6218 4246 or by visting http://www.watercorporation.com.au/h2onesmart.
