Operation Christmas Child underway in Mount Lawley

Michael Sutherland MLA recently met with some of the volunteers for Operation Christmas Child during Senior’s Week when they discussed the project and how it can assist those in need.

Michael Sutherland said “The project, which has been running since 1993, is a simple idea to give small Christmas gifts to children in disadvantaged countries.”

“All those who wish to assist need to do is fill a shoebox with small, practical gifts to suit a boy or girl of a particular age, include a small donation to cover delivery costs and drop it off at a local collection point. It is a great idea.”

Operation Christmas Child is an ongoing project and donations of boxes are able to be made at any time during the year.
