Sutherland-Dianella Primary School students enjoying the cool breeze
Michael Sutherland visited Sutherland-Dianella Primary School today. It is one of the first school’s to receive air-cooling under the Government’s policy to air-cool all Public Schools.
Michael Sutherland said “Sutherland-Dianella has had significant building works carried outcosting over $5 million over the last few years and the air-cooling is the final touch to complete what is now one of the best primary schools in Perth.”
“When I Visited the school today the students made it clear how fantastic the new air-cooling is. They told me that they can now learn in comfort.”
“On very hot days students can now attend school without having to worry about the heat affecting their learning. I am sure the teachers will also be relieved by the difference it will make in their classroom.”
“I am very pleased with the Government’s decision to air-cool all Public Schools and look forward to the rest of the schools in my electorate being air-cooled in the near future.”
Sutherland-Dianella’s Principal Stana Couzic said “It is wonderful to have air cooling at the start of this year as it has meant the children have had a positive start during the hot weather.”
The Barnett Government has committed $52 million over the next 4 years to air-cool all schools in Western Australia with over 100 School’s having been completed in time for the start of Term 1.
Sutherland Dianella Primary school is currently completing the Administration building, Stage 4 of their rebuilding project. The school is hoping to officially open the state component of the buildings by the end of this school year.
