As the Member for Bateman Christian Porter is committed to improving core Government services including law and order, education and health; where the greatest positive difference to people’s lives can be achieved.

In his role as the State’s Attorney General, Christian’s priority is to ensure that the Government makes our streets safer and protect community. His work as Attorney-General also means that his important role within State Cabinet not only protects and greatly benefits the electorate of Bateman but also Western Australia as a whole.

Christian graduated from Hale School and completed degrees in Arts, Economics and Law at the University of Western Australia and a Masters of Political Science at the London School of Economics.

Before entering Parliament he worked primarily as a lawyer in both private and public practice, including several years with the Director of Public Prosecutions, and was also a University lecturer at both Edith Cowan University and the University of Western Australia.

Christian and his wife Jennifer love living in Bateman but they have the same concerns and issues as many people in the electorate. Like others, they also expect the Government to deliver high quality services and make sensible, strong decisions which create economic opportunity for the State.

In his spare time, Christian is a keen amateur runner, so you may well see him in your travels around the electorate of Bateman. If you happen to see Christian out and about, feel free to stop and have a chat with him.
